Epoxy flakes flooring in Dubai delivers a uniquely textured, multi-tonal surface that goes far beyond the ordinary. At Carpet Shop Dubai, our epoxy flake systems are a firm favorite with homeowners renovating garages, gym owners fitting out new spaces, and commercial clients who want a floor that looks high-end without the maintenance demands of natural stone or hardwood. The result is an eye-catching, slip-resistant, and incredibly durable coating that holds up beautifully in Dubai's demanding conditions.
If you have seen those attractive speckled floors in showrooms, sports facilities, or commercial kitchens and wondered what they are, you are looking at an epoxy flake system. They are also known as vinyl chip floors, decorative flake floors, or broadcast flake epoxy, and they are among the most versatile flooring systems we install.

Epoxy flake flooring is created by broadcasting small vinyl or acrylic chips โ called flakes or chips โ into a freshly applied wet epoxy base coat. The chips stick to the surface and are then sealed under one or two clear epoxy or polyurethane topcoats. The finished floor has a decorative, slightly textured appearance that resembles terrazzo or speckled stone.
The vinyl flakes serve several purposes beyond aesthetics. They add a degree of texture to the surface, which increases grip underfoot. They also hide minor surface imperfections in the concrete below and add an extra layer of depth and dimension to the finished floor that solid-color epoxy simply cannot achieve.
We offer multiple epoxy flake systems, each designed for specific environments and design preferences:
Flakes are tossed uniformly onto the wet base coat until a consistent coverage is achieved. The topcoat seals everything flat. Best for garages, utility rooms, and workshops.
Flakes are applied heavily and completely cover the base coat, creating a dense, almost mosaic-like surface. More decorative and great for showrooms and commercial lobbies.
Fewer flakes are used, allowing the base coat color to show through. Creates a more subtle, artistic effect with visible contrast between the base and the chips.
Matching or contrasting base coats alongside specific flake blends create custom color stories. Ideal for branded commercial spaces.
Aluminum oxide grit is added to the topcoat over the flake system for enhanced traction in kitchens, ramps, and pool surrounds.
Our epoxy flake palette is extensive, allowing virtually unlimited customization to match any interior or branding requirement:
1mm, 3mm, 6mm, and 12mm chips. Smaller chips suit finer patterns; larger chips create bolder effects.
Granite Grey, Desert Sand, Ocean Blue, Classic Marble, Onyx Black, Pearl White, and many more.
We mix flake colors to match your brand colors, interior design scheme, or specific design brief.
Silver, gold, and copper metallic flakes combined with standard vinyl chips for added sparkle and dimensionality.
For a cleaner, modern look โ single-color flakes over a contrasting base create a sharp, contemporary aesthetic.
The most popular application in Dubai. Flake floors resist motor oil, fuel, and tire marks while keeping the garage looking immaculate.
The textured surface provides grip for exercise equipment and reduces fatigue during workouts.
Full-broadcast flake systems handle dropped weights and heavy foot traffic. They can be mopped clean in minutes after a tough session.
A speckled epoxy floor creates a premium visual backdrop without the fragility of natural marble or the high cost of stone.
Anti-slip flake systems in kitchen and service areas meet safety standards and stay hygienic with daily cleaning.
Light-colored flake systems are easy to inspect for cleanliness and resistant to common disinfectant chemicals.
Durable, colorful, and easy to maintain. Flake patterns also help disguise the inevitable scuffs and marks from heavy student use.
Protects concrete, resists moisture, and brightens otherwise dark underground spaces.
Our installation process is carefully planned to ensure maximum adhesion, durability, and a flawless decorative finish every time.
Diamond grinding or shot blasting to achieve the correct concrete surface profile. Cracks, joints, and divots are repaired with epoxy mortar.
We test concrete moisture levels before priming. Excessive moisture can cause adhesion failure. If required, a moisture-tolerant primer is used.
A penetrating epoxy primer is applied to seal the concrete and ensure the base coat bonds firmly to the substrate.
The colored epoxy base coat is applied evenly across the floor. Timing here is critical โ the flakes must be broadcast while the coat is still wet.
Flakes are scattered over the wet surface either by hand or with a broadcast spreader. For full-broadcast systems, excess flakes are removed after curing with a rigid blade or floor grinder.
A thin epoxy grout coat is applied over the cured full-broadcast surface to fill gaps between chips and create a flat surface before the topcoat.
One or two coats of a UV-stable polyurethane topcoat seal and protect the flake layer, providing the final gloss level and long-term durability.
Light foot traffic is possible within 24 hours. Full cure in 5 to 7 days. We walk you through care and maintenance at handover.
The cost of epoxy flake flooring in Dubai typically ranges based on the system chosen, area size, flake blend, number of topcoat layers, and any additional requirements such as anti-slip additives. Larger areas benefit from economies of scale โ a 500 sqm warehouse floor will be priced more favorably per sqm than a 30 sqm garage.

Yes. We carry a large selection of standard flake blends and can also custom-mix colors to match your design specification. Bring a color swatch, mood board, or Pantone reference to our Al Quoz showroom and our team will work with you to create the perfect blend.
With proper maintenance, a quality epoxy flake floor installed by our team will typically last 10 to 15 years in a residential garage. In commercial settings with heavier traffic, plan for 5 to 10 years before a maintenance topcoat is needed to refresh the surface.
A partial-broadcast flake floor with a standard topcoat feels smooth to the touch with very slight texture. A full-broadcast system without anti-slip grit feels similar to a fine sandpaper texture, which provides natural grip. If you want more traction, anti-slip grit is added to the topcoat.
Yes, with the right topcoat and anti-slip specification. The key is ensuring the floor is properly waterproofed at the perimeter and that the topcoat has adequate slip resistance. We handle all of this as part of the installation process.
